Terms and license
PteroPay terms.
These terms apply to the PteroPay website, demo, installer, updater, source package and billing panel software. PteroPay is provided under the MIT License and is supplied as-is.
Plain English Notice
PteroPay is free open-source software. You are responsible for how you install, configure, secure and operate it. The project does not guarantee revenue, uptime, security, compatibility, legal compliance, payment success or panel provisioning results.
This page is not legal advice. If you are using PteroPay for a real business, review your own customer terms, refund rules, tax handling, data protection duties and payment provider requirements.
Use of PteroPay
You may use, copy, modify, merge, publish, distribute, sublicense and sell copies of PteroPay subject to the MIT License below.
- You must not use PteroPay for illegal activity, fraud, abuse, malware, credential theft, spam, harassment or attempts to bypass third-party terms.
- You are responsible for securing your server, domain, SSL, database, admin accounts, API keys, Stripe keys, SMTP credentials and panel credentials.
- You are responsible for backups, updates, access control, firewall rules, monitoring and incident response.
- You are responsible for checking that PteroPay is suitable for your laws, business model, customers and hosting environment.
Demo
The public demo is for evaluation only. Demo data may be reset, edited or removed at any time without notice.
- Do not enter real personal data, payment data, API keys, passwords or customer information into the demo.
- The demo does not represent a production environment or a guarantee that every feature will work in your setup.
- Demo checkout is disabled. No payment is taken and no Pterodactyl or Pelican server is provisioned.
Installer and Updater
The installer and updater modify server packages, application files, services, nginx configuration, database configuration and file permissions. Run them only on systems where you understand and accept those changes.
- The installer attempts to install nginx, PHP-FPM, MySQL or MariaDB, Redis, cron, Composer, Node.js and npm when missing.
- The installer may disable conflicting web servers such as Apache or httpd so nginx can bind to required ports.
- You should review scripts before running them as root.
- You should keep backups before installing, updating or changing production systems.
Payments, Panels and Third Parties
PteroPay can connect to third-party services such as Stripe, SMTP providers, Pterodactyl and Pelican. Those services are separate from PteroPay and are governed by their own terms, pricing, limits, reliability and compliance rules.
- You are responsible for Stripe account setup, webhooks, refunds, chargebacks, taxes, VAT, invoices and payment disputes.
- You are responsible for your Pterodactyl or Pelican panel setup, nodes, eggs, allocations, API keys and server provisioning rules.
- No guarantee is made that any third-party service will remain available, compatible or error-free.
Security
PteroPay is provided without any security warranty. You are responsible for applying updates, using strong passwords, protecting secrets, restricting admin access and configuring your server securely.
If you find a security issue, avoid public exploitation or disclosure of sensitive details before a fix can be prepared.
No Warranty and Limitation of Liability
PteroPay is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the authors, copyright holders, maintainers, contributors and operators of the website or demo are not liable for damages, losses, claims, costs or consequences arising from use of PteroPay.
This includes, without limitation, loss of profits, loss of revenue, failed payments, chargebacks, tax issues, data loss, service downtime, security incidents, misconfiguration, failed installation, failed updates, customer disputes, panel provisioning failures, API failures, business interruption or any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages.
Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions or limitations. Where a limitation cannot legally apply, liability is limited to the smallest amount permitted by applicable law.
